The mountain refuge Fodara Vedla is located at the heart of the Nature Park Fanes-Senes-Braies, which is almost entirely in the administrative area of San Vigilio di Marebbe. The vast, green basin at 2000 metres above sea level is used as mountain pasture in the summer and is surrounded by the marvellous Dolomites. From San Vigilio you may use any means of transportation to Pederü. From the inn Pederü (1545m a. s. l.) you reach the mountain hut by foot within about 1 hour and 15 minutes along the 3km long path number 7. From Cortina d'Ampezzo you may use any means of transportation to the refuge Ra Stua (1700m a. s. l.). From there you walk for 5km along path number 9 and you will reach Fodara Vedla within 1.5 hours. From Lake Braies (Val Pusteria) at 1600m a. s. l. you can reach Fodara Vedla within approximately 5 hours along path number 23 or the High Dolomites Track number 1. |
